For those not familiar with skiwax.ca, this company is owned and operated by Andy Shields, a former WRNSC member. He grew up skiing with our club, rising through the Jackrabbit and Junior programs, before attending the Thunder Bay Training Centre. He eventually represented Canada at the World Junior, World U23, and Senior World Cup races. While Andy now lives in Thunder Bay, he continues to support WRNSC and we encourage you to check out his site.
We recommend that families have access to their own grip waxes. For families – if your skier has skis that are smooth from tip to tail, he/she will need grip wax. If he/she has skis that have physical grip areas (ridges or scales) underneath the binding, grip wax is not required.
If you aren’t looking for equipment, we still encourage you to check out the great instructional pages for waxing tips.
Recommendations from Andy for WRNSC skiers.
