For those not familiar with this site, this company is owned and operated by Andy Shields, a former WRNSC member. He grew up skiing with our club, rising through the Jackrabbit and Junior programs, before attending the Thunder Bay Training Centre. He eventually represented Canada at the World Junior, World U23, and Senior World Cup races. Cross Country Ski Ontario and Waterloo Region Public Health both say that we should avoid sharing equipment because of the possibility of COVID transmission. This makes sharing a club wax box at programs difficult. We therefore recommend that families have access to their own grip waxes. For families – if your skier has skis that are smooth front tip to tail, he/she will need kick wax. If he/she has skis that have physical grip areas (ridges or scales) underneath the binding, grip wax is not required.
