The WRNSC’s annual maintenance and wood chipping of trail sections that wind through the Bechtel Park forest will be held this Saturday October 24th. This ongoing work is essential in order to maintain the base for our winter ski trails. We need as many hands as possible, so please consider joining us.
Lunch is provided to all volunteers. This effort is also eligible for Ontario High School Diploma volunteer hours.
When: Saturday October 24th, from 8:30 am – 12:00 noon. You can contribute the whole morning or just a portion of it.
Where: Meet at the trail entrance near the children’s playground (across from the baseball diamond). Plenty of parking is available beside the playground.
How: Wear safe and appropriate clothing for rain, sunshine or cool temperatures. Gloves would be a good idea to protect your hands.
Bring: A wheelbarrow (or two), T-rake, shovel, garden fork or large garbage bin for moving wood chips. Drinking water and
a snack are also recommended.
