Polar Vortex Reprieve

Just got back from Bechtel … it was great to see all the skiers enjoying the milder conditions. All the trails were regroomed and track set after the persistent flurries today. They should set up well overnight and make for great skiing Sunday. Hope to see you on the trails before the next plunge.

Technical Difficulties

Many thanks to Mark and Jens for their valiant efforts to groom Wednesday, but alas the snowmobile has taken a turn for the worse. It will be into the mechanics today but we are unsure of its return date. Till then, the first person out gets to set the trails!!!

We will keep you posted here about our return to grooming.

Easterly Winds

… Sunday morning brought some cold wet easterly winds but not much in the way of snow yet. The network was renovated for foot traffic and track reset where it had drifted or was washed out.

Wear a “buff” and get out and enjoy the trails and tracks.

A new beginning.

The grooming process began today at noon, and it took many passes to start getting the deep snow and drifts flattened down.

You will find soft powdery conditions everywhere. All trails have had a few passes and Dave is setting tracks at this time …

grooming

Well the network has been packed and trackset. You’ll find skating a bit soft but that will firm up with traffic and sun. The winds are still a bit high so there is still some drifting on the tennis court.

Enjoy your ski!
